Beach Kickboxing: Aira and Friends Stand Up

A Peaceful Afternoon

The sun glowed softly above the shoreline, painting the sky in strokes of orange and gold. Waves rolled in rhythmically, and families built sandcastles or dipped their feet in the shallow water.

Near the quieter left side of the beach, three girls had a different plan.

Aira, Mei, and Eri arrived straight from a school event, wearing their uniforms: white blouses, short dark blue skirts, and sneakers. Their bags clacked with boxing gloves and mitts inside.

"Perfect spot. Not too crowded, not too empty," Aira said, stretching her arms.

"I can already feel the sweat coming," Mei replied, opening her bag.

"The sun is training us before we even start," Eri laughed.

Training on the Beach

The girls had been attending kickboxing training for months, improving strength, reflexes, and confidence.

Aira pulled on her red boxing gloves. "Today, we’re focusing on mitt combinations. One two, one two three, front kick, side kick. Simple stuff."

"Simple for you," Mei said. "You punch like a truck."

Eri raised her phone. "I’ll record the combos so we can check the form later."

Aira bounced lightly on her feet, skirt fluttering. The mitt drills began: jab, cross, front kick, side kick. The sounds of sharp pops and thumps drew curious glances from nearby beachgoers.

"They’re doing kickboxing?" whispered one onlooker.

"That girl punches fast!" said another.

Unwanted Attention

Not everyone watching had good intentions. Four older boys from a nearby school approached, smirking and commenting on the girls’ uniforms.

"Aw, come on. You girls are cute. Give us a little show," the leader said.

Aira, Mei, and Eri froze — not afraid, just annoyed.

"We’re training. Not entertaining you," Aira said calmly.

The boys stepped closer, blocking the path.

"Move aside," Aira said firmly.

The boys smirked. "Make us."

Standing Up With Confidence

Aira and her friends acted swiftly and precisely, using their kickboxing skills:

  • Aira redirected the leader’s hand and pushed him off balance.

  • Mei intercepted another boy with a palm block.

  • Eri executed a clean side kick to a third boy.

  • Aira jabbed the fourth boy’s shoulder.

The crowd gasped and then cheered. The boys panicked and fled, humiliated.

"Kickboxing training really pays off," Eri said, picking up her bag.

Teaching Others

The girls who had been harassed earlier approached.

"You were amazing! Can you teach us?" they asked.

Aira smiled. "If you want to learn, of course we’ll teach you."

The trio taught the basics: stance, jab, cross, and foot positioning. Other beachgoers joined in from a distance, turning it into a fun mini-workshop.

The sun dipped into the ocean, painting the sky pink. Laughter and cheers filled the air as the new students practiced punches and kicks.

"Girl power forever," Mei said.

"Kickboxing squad!" Eri added jokingly.

Reflection

As the girls packed up and walked along the shoreline, footprints in the sand, their hearts felt stronger and their bond tighter.

Somewhere behind them, the new students continued practicing, encouraged by Aira and her friends.

The world felt safer — even just a little.

Thanks to kickboxing.
Thanks to courage.
Thanks to them.
